Sketching & Plein Air Painting

The sketch group meets every Tuesday morning from 10 -12 am throughout the summer months to sketch outdoors in gardens and public spaces around the island.

We also meet indoors in the winter, in spaces that can be arranged, like cafes, the library, Artspring, and private businesses. Any place warm and welcoming.

Locations are chosen a few days before and an email is sent out to all members advising them of the place to meet.

The sketchers share photos of our work to our group by sending them once a week to Linda (a member), for an email which comes out every Sunday morning to be enjoyed with our morning coffee. Sharing is completely voluntary.

We are connected ‘in spirit’ to the Urban Sketchers organization.  Urban Sketchers is a global community of sketchers dedicated to the practice of on-location drawing.  We share our love for the places where we live and travel - one drawing at a time.

To join our sketching group, you just need to be a paid member of the Salt Spring Island Painters Guild.  Become a member here.
